From 2005 to 2021, Mount Tremper Arts (MTA) hosted more than 400 artist residencies and over 150 performances — an internationally recognized incubator of contemporary performance across music, dance, theater, visual art, and literature.
The annual Summer Festival and Watershed Lab—a residency partnership with leading NYC theaters—established MTA as a vital link between rural retreat and the cutting edge of contemporary performance. MTA was supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, and a broad community of funders and patrons.
Alongside its artistic programs, MTA cultivated a distinctive approach to hospitality—integrating artist residencies with gardens, food, and community gatherings.
